CREDIT DEPARTMENT'CREDIT & COLLECTION ANALYST

 

 

  1. JOB SUMMARY

 

This is a skilled position requiring the employee to perform a wide variety of credit, collection and customer service functions.  The position will be required to contact customers for payments, negotiate acceptable payment arrangements, collect past due balances and meet company DSO expectations. Position will interact with dispatch, sales, and billing to resolve customer issues as they may arise. Notes from customer calls will be retained in the customer file and communicated to appropriate department for resolution.  The position will draft pre-lien notices research and file mechanic's liens, complete lien waivers and provide assistance in the credit approval process.  Position will support the Credit and Collection Department Manager, and perform such other tasks as needed. 

 

Work will be performed per the supervisor's instruction, free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs.   

 

  1. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

  • Ability to operate office equipment including, but not limited to: computers, copiers, printers, fax machines, etc.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Superior telephone, written & verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to get along well with a diverse staff.
  • Knowledge of basic office practices.
  • Advanced typing skills.
  • Ten key adding machine by touch.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry and California mechanics' lien laws.
  • Knowledge of collection and accounting software.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast and ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to fluently speak and write the English language.
  • Knowledge of credit and collection practices and law.
  • Mathematical ability to reconcile customer payment discrepancies.
