Inside Sales Representative

POSITION SUMMARY:  Job involves inside and outside sales in addition to customer service and development.  Experience with building materials, construction and concrete industry preferred.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


  • Bi lingual in Spanish is preferred


  • Must be able to meet with and/or call on potential customers and existing customers, accumulating data concerning future projects that Westside Concrete Materials could provide product information.  Periodically generate reports on such activity for operations/sales management team and corporate management.


  • Must be able to go out in the field to ascertain that jobs are being properly serviced and assist with servicing of the jobs.


  • Will take customer's data and compile/convert it into meaningful information for marketing, sales, operations and administrative decision-making.


  • Must meet deadlines required for time-sensitive materials and maintain records regarding sales and generate reports comparing projections to actual performance.


  • Must be proficient in basic mathematics for sales invoice totaling and report calculations.


  • Must perform work in a neat and understandable fashion for recipients of reports.


  • Must have a pleasant demeanor when communicating with others.


  • Must maintain an excellent attendance work record.


  • Should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and co-workers.


  • Must be computer literate and able to enter customer information on Company forms or direct electronic input.


  • Must be able to write messages down and pass messages to appropriate persons or customers.





  • Customer service and sales/marketing experience in building materials, concrete or construction industry preferred. Experience with order taking preferred.


  • High School Diploma is minimum requirement with some college work desired.


  • Three to five years working experience with building materials, concrete or construction industry desired. Company is willing to train.






  • Have the ability to communicate and interact well with others.


  • Must be a self-starter who works well with minimum of supervision.


  • Must be able to read, write, hear, and verbally communicate in English directly or over telephone or in person.


  • Good math, verbal communications and computer skills necessary.
